Completely original 1952 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop — the first year for this pioneering model in the storied Les Paul lineage. With original case and strap. The 1952 Goldtop marked the debut of Gibson’s solid-body electric guitars, a pivotal moment cementing the Les Paul’s place in music history. It combined a carved maple top with a mahogany body—melding Gibson’s warm tonal signature with added brightness.This is a two owner guitar, current owner has lovingly cared for this since 1972. It's time to find a new home.In incredibly Excellent condition for a 73 year old guitar, there is virtually no weather checking on top and very little on back.
It does have some very light playwear, but this is a completely original guitar with the long barrel ‘tall boy’ knobs and nothing has ever been altered or manipulated. The ‘Patent Pending’ stamp is on the tailpiece hinge, and the original bar bridge is still attached. The neck set is great, It sounds wonderfully bright, and as you’re playing you can feel the vibrations everywhere, with so much character. Other features include the absence of a switch washer or ‘poker chip’ and no-line Kluson tuners. This one comes with its original four-latch Lifton brown case with the pink interior and original strap.
