1955 Gibson Les Paul Junior
One family owned example, this was passed down to the daughter of the original owner.
This is a 100% original guitar. Not a screw has been changed, a guitar exactly as it left the factory in late 1955. In remarkable condition including original frets that appear that have not been played...Very nice patina with some light weatherchecking, a few dings and dents here and there.
6 lbs. 2 oz featherweight!.
The original alligator softshell case is gone. It has a later era 70's purple lined Gibson hardshell. In VG condition, but could use new tuner buttons and wraparound bridge posts are tilting forward. Easy work for a skilled luthier, but future owner's project. Selling as-is.
A 1955 Gibson Les Paul Junior with a dog-ear P-90 doesn’t just sound “good” — it sounds primitive, alive, and slightly dangerous in the best way. The “growl” people talk about is a thick midrange snarl that sits between a Fender single-coil bite and a humbucker roar. There’s a dry, woody attack from the slab mahogany body and wraparound bridge, followed by this ragged harmonic grind that blooms as the note sustains. Dig in hard and it barks. Roll the volume back and it cleans up into smoky, jangly clarity without losing attitude.
